GOCE re-enters atmosphere

GOCE finished re-entering atmosphere after4 years of service

On Sunday 10th at 7 p.m EST the 350 M€ European Space Agency's GOCE (acronym from Gravity field and steady-state Oceanic Circulation Explorer) made a controlled destructive re-entry while describing a flight over the lands of Siberia, the western Pacific Ocean, the eastern Indian Ocean and Antarctica. 

"As expected, the satellite desintegrated in the high atmosphere and no damage to property has been reported" ESA officials declared. Therefore, the 5.3 meters long and 1,1 Ton satellite ended its operational life with no incidences.
